WHAT IS BIO-LIGHT THERAPY?

Bio-light has been used in many different treatments, from skin care to hair & scalp care.

Bio-light therapy also known as Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or cold laser is a painless, relaxing and non-invasive treatment that uses an array of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to send low level light energy onto the scalp safely. It's commonly used to treat the hair loss conditions such as androgenetic alopecia or pattern balding.

It is a highly effective treatment when part of a series - usually six treatments one to two weeks apart, followed by a maintenance treatment every month or two.

Bio-Light treatments last about ten to twenty minutes, and can be a stand-alone treatment or part of a hair & scalp care treatment. Different LED colours can be used for different treatments.

HOW IT WORKS?

Red Bio-Light Therapy can help stimulate blood circulation and increase collagen production in the scalp. It also triggers repair mechanisms by stimulating fibroblast cells and enhances cell growth.

Blue Bio-Light can be used to treat scalp redness because of its soothing and detoxifying properties. It can also help to improve the lymph and blood circulatory system.

Yellow Bio-Light has purifying and antibacterial properties that are good for skin prone to acne growth. It can effectively reduce the amount of excess fluid in the skin, treating sensitive skin and providing a clear complexion.

Bio-light therapy offers a totally natural and safe method for hair treatments. The lightwave interacts with the cells stimulating blood circulation, promoting collagen production and improves hair growth.

SCIENTIFIC STUDIES

As early as the 1950s, LEDs has been used to promote hair growth and stop hair loss. In recent studies, LED light panels is placed 30cm from the alopecia area and set with a dosage ranging from 3-4 joule per sq/cm. A microscopic evaluation of the hair shaft structure was then taken from the exposed area where it shows a clear medulla rich in keratin after the treatment.

The medulla is the innermost layer of the hair shaft. Keratin is a fibrous protein important in forming the main structural constituent in our hair, nails and skin.

In 2002, at the 4th Annual Meeting of the Japan Light Therapy Association, success was reported with an increase in both hair growth and density of the hair follicles in the light treated areas of both male and female stress Alopecia and Alopecia Areata. Only one failure out of 240 cases was reported in two papers!
