Healthy Scalp Healthy Hair
Healthy hair begins at the roots with a healthy scalp. We can’t emphasize enough that a good scalp foundation goes a long way in achieving healthy beautiful hair. No matter the type of shampoo, conditioner or treatment you might have used for your hair, a scalp therapy treatment like our signature BioDiversity Treatment can be much more effective in cleansing up the roots and improving circulation enabling proper nourishment.
Our hair like any parts of our body needs a healthy environment with the right nutrients to grow and thrive. A clean healthy scalp provides our hair the optimal conditions to do so. Here’s just some of the reasons how a healthy scalp helps with healthy hair.
Build up occurs on our skin over time, sweat, dead skin and oil all accumulated on our scalp. The overuse of (unsuitable) hair products also contribute to it. This build up at the hair roots could affect circulation and inhibit new healthy hair growth.
Dandruff can be more than just an embarrassing albeit frustrating condition. It also most likely signals scalp inflammation and becomes unbearably itchy at times, leading to damaged hair follicles.
We need water and are made up of it, water makes up 10 to 13 percent of our hair. A dry scalp often leads to irritation, itching and inflammation. All these are bad news for healthy hair.
Our hair relies on sebum (the natural oil) to stay moisturized and protected against the elements. When there is a disruption in sebum production or the hair cuticles (outermost layer) are damaged, our hair becomes dry and brittle and is unable to fend itself.
You might be a fan of dry shampoo especially if you have oily roots. But dry shampoos are mostly dirt magnets as it holds onto dirt and can contribute to scalp buildup, leading to poor circulation and irritation.
